At Clay in the Woods
Tucked away in the rolling woodlands of Goodlettsville, TN, situated near Walkers Creek, you’ll discover Clay in the Woods — a pottery studio organized for clay artists by clay artists. Only 20-minutes outside of Nashville, Clay in the Woods provides an artistic escape from urban living. As lovers of all things clay, we strive to preserve the power of a nearly lost artform by shaping one-of-a-kind creativity with our own hands.

About Our Therapeutic Studio Space
Clay in the Woods is a community-oriented artist collective where people come together, cultivate their artistry, and create something worthwhile. Founder, Ryan Ghaffari, loves sharing his passion for the ceramic arts with fellow craftspeople and those unfamiliar with the practice but looking to grow.
Ryan first got his hands in the mud and discovered the magic of pottery during his teenage years.
Over the next 14 ½ years, Ryan attended college, served in the military overseas, and worked in a nonprofit assisting adults with disabilities. It was there that Ryan realized the therapeutic properties of pottery as an art form and was inspired to open his own studio. He understands that some may want to experiment with the arts but might not have the ability to obtain materials or know how to get started — Clay In the Woods gives you space to do so.
